Some old threads mentioned odd troubles with 'Rootschat' at that time a fairly new site. It now has 10 boards (inc.an 'instant'Chat Room) Totally Free and after you've registered ,go to the Home Button and navigate from there. Sorry if everyone knows about this but in 5 days I've already had help, replies.etc . And plenty of Moderators who respond . And they e-mail when there is an addtion to any thread you have either started or contributed to!! Jay |

Hi Jay I find it a difficult site to navigate. Do you know how I can find replies quickly to my posts, or even find my posts would be good. lol. I can't find anywhere I can put jmy name up and locate all my bits and pieces together somewhere , or am I missing something obvious? Kat |

Jay, Thank you for that - I was cecommended to try this site for a Cheshire look-up the other day and I have already received some help. Kat, I too had been on the site some while ago and could never navigate my way around - I again had difficulty when I tried it again - I DO find it a difficult site to get around and still haven't mastered it BUT - what I did this time was when I was on the actual page where I posted my request on the thread - I saved that actual page as a favourite - when I go back to see if I have any replies - I just go in via favourites and it takes me straight to my thread. I do still get lost if I try to look at anything else on the site but it DOES seem to have some useful information and helpful people so this time I will 'keep at it' until I can find my way around. Hope this helps, Dea |

At the very top of the Rootschat page it says Welcome back .... Just under that there's a link Show new replies to your posts. That should bring up what you're looking for. An alternative way is to click on your own name, then at the bottom Show the last posts of this Rootschatter. That will take you into all of your posts, but it's much easier to use the first method. When you add a new topic click on Additional options and check the Notify me of replies box - you'll then get an email when there's a reply david |

Thanks for all of your replies and help given to others. I was away practising navigating around ! i get replies on e-mail when anyone replies to my Thread and also any thread to which I have contributed. Guess there is still lots to learn, lots of friendly people(GR'ers as well) on there and for myself I go to the Home Button and the Common Room. Enjoy Jay |

Hi Kat The way I do it on Roots Web is to find one of my posts and then click on my name. That will throw up all of your posts listed board by board. If you prefer to have your posts listed in date order just change the drop down menu to Date Collapsed. Once in your list of posts if you click on Add Author to favorites you can go straight to that page by clicking on My Favorites next to My Profile Again though each time you add a post you will automatically get an email each time there is a reply, unless you uncheck that box when posting. Hope you find your posts! David |
