Hello If I ever get the opportunity to repay some of the kindnesses from people on the boards I would like to know how to do this. Could someone please explain how to copy info from the censuses etc. to put on as a reply to a query? I know how to copy and paste, but it doesn't seem to work for this. I am not the most computer literate person out here!!!! Thanks a lot Maggie |

I don't think this is the case for everyone, but for me, if I copy and paste onto this site, I have to already have the reply box open on here BEFORE I do the Copy from the other page. Then it will paste!! Merry |

On the index, when you have found the correct details for a person, click on... View details.. There is then an option to click on other people on the page. If you do that, you can copy the details across from there. |

How easy it is to copy and paste can depend on which browser you're using. I was told (by Ancestry, after problems using Camino) that they're tuned in to the latest version of Safari. However, copying and pasting from Safari into Excel, so I can remove the junk and sort how I want, puts everything into one column. When I copy and paste from Camino, it pastes things into separate rows+columns, so that it makes sense. So now - if I want to be sure of having the Refine-Search boxes on Ancestry AND I want to copy and paste, I have to look it up in Safari, and then use the results to find it again on Camino! its the same as copy and paste but i have to wait a few minutes before i press paste or sometimes it takes me 3 or 4 times to get it to paste which gets annoying. Jeanette |

I've always just done Control + C to copy and Control + V to paste and never had any problems. nell |
