Hello If I ever get the opportunity to repay some of the kindnesses from people on the boards I would like to know how to do this. Could someone please explain how to copy info from the censuses etc. to put on as a reply to a query? I know how to copy and paste, but it doesn't seem to work for this. I am not the most computer literate person out here!!!! Thanks a lot Maggie

I don't think this is the case for everyone, but for me, if I copy and paste onto this site, I have to already have the reply box open on here BEFORE I do the Copy from the other page. Then it will paste!! Merry

On the index, when you have found the correct details for a person, click on... View details.. There is then an option to click on other people on the page. If you do that, you can copy the details across from there.

How easy it is to copy and paste can depend on which browser you're using. I was told (by Ancestry, after problems using Camino) that they're tuned in to the latest version of Safari. However, copying and pasting from Safari into Excel, so I can remove the junk and sort how I want, puts everything into one column. When I copy and paste from Camino, it pastes things into separate rows+columns, so that it makes sense. So now - if I want to be sure of having the Refine-Search boxes on Ancestry AND I want to copy and paste, I have to look it up in Safari, and then use the results to find it again on Camino! its the same as copy and paste but i have to wait a few minutes before i press paste or sometimes it takes me 3 or 4 times to get it to paste which gets annoying. Jeanette

I've always just done Control + C to copy and Control + V to paste and never had any problems. nell
