Awww, Keith, I'm glad to hear you've had success!! I get almost as excited about others finding their ancestors as when I do. :~) Some of the sites I found on my own -- some of them others have told me about. Isn't it great that we can all share our knowledge? Most of my research in Ontario was prior to 1900, but if there is anything that I can try to help you with, please let me know. Are you aware of the Ontario Marriages and Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid? http://homepages.rootsweb*com/~maryc/ontmarr.htm Covering years 1800-1924 -- most of my ancestors are not included, don't know why http://www.islandnet*com/ocfa/ Once again, most of my ancestors are not included -- so you may not have too much success. Please let me know if I can offer assistance with anything else. And thanks for telling me about your success! |

Lisa in california you are a genius - I have been searching for so long for a relative that emigrated to Ontario around the turn of the 1900's. I just tried one of your tips and i've just found the whole family listed. Don't know what to say , i'm gobsmacked. Big Thanks |

Hi David: 1901 Canadian census: http://automatedgenealogy*com/census/cache/NationalSummary.jsp (replace * with .) 1911 Canadian census (only about 33% transcribed): http://automatedgenealogy*com/census11/Test4.jsp The InGeneas site is a good one. I use that to see if there are any existing records and then if some are found, try and find them for free elsewhere. I have ordered records from this site and I find the site to be excellent. Cyndi's List - Alberta: http://www*cyndislist*com/alberta.htm This site has just about everything. Good luck and if you have any other questions, please ask. PS This may have some good things; never used it: http://www*afhs.ab*ca/data/census/1906/ Remember to replace all * with . Me again - my family/ancestors are from Ontario, Canada. I've done google searches and entered names and towns and other things and have had results -- you might try google searches and might possibly find when they died or where they are buried. |

Hi Being fairly new to this I'd be really grateful if anyone could advise me of the best way/sites to trace two members of my family who left for Calgary in Canada around 1900. Many thanks David |
