I remember watching, here in Australia, a show about people living in tents in the countryside in England. They were waiting for the land to be subdivided for building houses. Does anyone remember this show and the name of the area it was in? I know it was a true story. I think some of my ancestors may have lived in this 'tent town'. Susan |

I do remember seeing the show, but it was a good few years ago and I can't remember either the name of the show or where the location was, although I think it was in the south of England somewhere. Sorry not much help to you. Kath. x |

Kath, it was a few years old when we saw it. It was in the south of England, possibly Kent. Maybe someone will remember the name of the area. Could it be 'Shortlands'? Susan |

Thanks, Linda. The mystery has been solved. The name of the show was 'Plotlands'. It was suggested that I google this and I found lots of info. Thank you all. Susan |

wasnt Plotlands to do with an area in Essex? If so it has recently been in the news again as one of the original old bungalows on the site came up for sale. It was in an area known as Langdon Hills which comes under Basildon in Essex Mo |

Just thought you might like to know that I understand it was my gt grandfather that sold some of the lots in Laindon. he considered himself 'Lord of the manor' and his name is still on a church plaque that he lent money to, so that it could be built. |
