Hi, I am looking for a WW2 official war diary (Queen's Royal Regiment), does anyone know where to look? I have heard they are kept at the National Archives, but I can find anything about them on that website as yet. Also, I was hoping to buy a copy rather than have to go out to the National Archives if that is at all possible. Thanks Al

The war diaries are indeed at the National Archives in Kew. You should be able to identify what you want through the on line catalogue. It is best to order them in advance and help leaflets are available at the online site to help you through the whole process. The diaries are in large cardboard boxes and if you can't get there to view them yourself it might be worth your while employing a researcher (or someone on gr?) to help you as unless you know an exact day, time etc. copying would be impossibly expensive. The National Archives wont actually recommend a researcher but they do have a list of those willintgto take on research on its site. Sorry not to be of more help but at least it is an answer! Sylvie
