Still no reply. Perhaps I'll just update my TTF post and stick to helping others out for the time being! Cheers everyone!

Maybe its not the contact thats at fault. I was contacted a few weeks ago about one of my rellies and replied that I would find the info. I had another one back saying OK but when I replied again the message came back that they didnt know what I was talking about and why had I emailed them? It would appear that GR has mixed the mail up AS WELL as my tree. So if the person who mailed me about Clara Phillips and Thomas Bratt is reading this please try again. I have left messages on TTF Bratt. Ellen XX

BRIDIE, I think it is called 'Murphies Law'......I find people unrelated to me often are the most helpful. Hopefully your contact has just been waylaid...... Although it is good manners to acknowledge any replies apparently some people don't think so!!! Hope they are soon in touch... Victoria

Yes! I should try a bit of patience but the thing that got me was that I was sitting at my desk when the email came in and I probably replied within minutes so to then hear nothing was crushing. However I too have had and given help to others on this site and also had some good 'conversations' with unrelated people! And sometimes it's just easier to find something for someone else than research your own brick wall! It's just a hobby after all.

Oh Merry - your song should be 'Always Look on the bright side of life'! Cheers Allie x (and thanks for your help in the past!)

Maybe they have really busy exciting lives and are really pleased they got in contact with you and are looking forward to replying when they have the chance.

Hi Bridie It is so annoying when this happens. It's happened to me, but to compensate, I've also had some lovely contacts, who even when there was no connection we've ended up just chatting with each other! Don't know what's the matter with some people! Cheers Allie x

Several months ago I posted a 'trying to find' notice only to hear nothing. Then a couple of days ago I received an enquiry - '.... was your Fred married to so-and-so...' I replied with what further information I knew, feeling really excited as this would be my husbands closest blood line. And the response? NOTHING! Not even a thanks for the reply - we don't seem to have a link at all. Whatever happened to manners?
