I have found what i think is my 3xgrandparents marriage!March 1838 Portsea Island Hampshire both on the same page 135 in vol 7 Payne Charlotte Matilda b:1814 James Norris b: 1813 My only doubt is on the 1851 census in chelsea grannie is down as beeing born in Westminister! There first son was born 1838 GG/Grandad b: 1841 As this is the only marriage cert that i can find right people right year but wrong place,Help Your thoughts would be appreciated Ann |

Are you sure it says Westminster & not Winchester? Where were they living at the time of the census? People often lied and claimed they came from the place they were living in, not where they were actually born. |

It definitely says Westminister, unless the transcriber put it down wrong. Ann |

If they came from Middlesex why would they get married in Hampshire? not unless she was already pregnant with her first. and their families disowned them Jeanette |

Yes that is my lot James went on to marry Emma Ewer 2nd Dec 1860 in Upper Chelsea,but he died of Typhoid 8th Feb 1877 aged 36, i have Emma has 3 children with her but James Henry b:1868 and Annie b: 1873 are in the Kensington And Chelsea District School which we think is a wookhouse School. Ann |

Jeanette, Henry b:1813 his son's Henry b: 1838 and James b: 1841 James B: 1841 then had 5 kids one son he called James Henry b:1868 James Henry b:1868 then had 7 kids of which one son he called James Henry b:1992 now thats as clear as mud |
