(ibid). Written in brackets after a Knighthood entry. I know it's nothing to do with a knighthood being granted AFTER death ... as this one was still alive after the date it was given. Any idea's anyone ... I'm curious, as several Gentleman who were granted Knighthoods between 1865 - 1867 have this after the entry. Some WERE knighted at Windsor Castle others weren't .... Does anyone know what this means ..... In case anyone is interested ...... ibid means 'in same place' ...... similar to 'ditto' etc. Thanks to Joan on General Board x Elaine ;-) |
