I need to find out my g.g.grandfather John Thompson/Thomson's Place Of Birth, so I can order his birth certificate, and in turn discover the names of both his parents. All the information I have is on his marriage certificate (1903) and birth certificates for 2 of his children (1905,1907): *John Thompson/Thomson *Born 1881-1882 *Father = Henry Thompson/Thomson *Occupation = Ag. Labourer (1905), Wagoner (1907) *Place Of Birth = Unknown! http://photobucket(.)com/albums/a85/sheilamfarmer/mc(.)jpg http://photobucket(.)com/albums/a85/sheilamfarmer/child1(.)jpg http://photobucket(.)com/albums/a85/sheilamfarmer/child2(.)jpg My g.g.grandmother and both (unrelated) witnesses on the marriage certificate came from Kidderminster, Worcestershire, but where did John Thompson come from?? If anyone can solve this 2 year brickwall, I would be indebted to that person for the rest of my life, otherwise it looks as though I will have to wait for the 1911 census?

Where was he married? Where were his children born? Dea

Have you looked for him in 1901, in the neighbourhood of where he was married? David

I think I may have found him!!! There's a John Thompson on the 1901 Census residing in Worcestershire, born in Derbyshire, but he's only a Boarder. I found this same person on the 1891 Census, and he's the son of a Henry Thompson! This seems too much of a co-incidence to be false, however, I did once find a John Thompson from Lancashire also with a father named Henry Thompson. How can I be 100% certain I have the right person?

I don't know if John or his father had any siblings, nor do I know his father's profession. The head crinkley in my family doesn't know either.

Giles, If you have all these certs - you must know where and when he was married and where and when his children were born and usually the occupation of his father. Give us some more details here Dea

Dea, his marriage and children's birth took place in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, but his father is only noted as being a 'labourer' on the marriage certificate.
