Hi, Margaret, You might try downloading an image program like IrfanView, free and simple! to print from. It's fairly basic, but is good enough for most straight-forward jobs. And better than Paint! And, Valerie... that's how the key's labelled on my keyboard. Use it with the shift key... I think! Michael |

Victor -- thanks for that. Last time I did it, I remember using 'ctrl p' or something similar. I've been playing around with these for the last hour. Unfortunately, because these pictures are files as opposed to image files the only way I can open them is in 'Paint' and when I do a screen shot I end up with the whole 'paint' screen (toolbars and all), which means the picture, as part of that, is still really tiny. The properties for each page of 5-6 photos is only 30-44KB so any enlarging I do only makes them pixely. May have to go to plan 'c' (the screen shot was plan 'b') and get the photo on the screen and take a picture of it with my camera. |

Thank you for that 'print screen' tip Victor - I was trying to use this method for something a few days ago and couldn't get it to work - I thought when you pressed 'print screen' it would print it !! (Logical I thought !) Anyway, I tried again and pasted into word as you suggested - Success!! Thanks, Dea |

Margaret Go to the top right of your keyboard and you will see a key that has [PrtSc] on it. When you have the picture you want on the screen press this key. Now open word and right click, then click on paste. your page shoud nw be displayed within the word page. You may need to change from Portrate to Landscape to fit the screen shot in correctly. You can drag the bottom right corner out to enlarge the capture to fit the page. Save this page as whatever you want to call it, you can then print it or show it at your leasure. Best of luck with it. Victor |

Hi If you are using windows XP there is a built in picture printer utitiliy which should print them any size. If the files you have are of a low resolution though they will print all blockey looking if you enlarge them too much. If you right click on one of the pictures and select Properties it should tell you the resolution widthxheight and dots per inch, dpi. Normally for a 6x4 print you want a dpi of 150 or more to be able to enlarge to 6x4 format. Anything less is really only good for screen viewing. Michael. |

My plan is to open them in 'Paint' - where they are very clear and large - and do a 'print screen' and save them to disk to be printed ....but I've forgotten how to do it. I have Windows 98 and only the basic Paint program that comes in Accessories. I am just heading off to bed now but will check in after I get the boys off to school in the morning -- around 1pm your time. Many thanks for your help. Margaret |

I hope someone can help.....am trying to complete a family tree album for my friend by next week, but some photos that her rellie sent me won't enlarge enough to be any good. I don't know what format they are in, but the largest the whole page of photos can be printed is 2'' x 1'' (and there's 6 pictures on each page, so they are reeeeally tiny). |
