I found an article in the Times newspaper archive which gives details of his will. He left 'a fortune' of 482, 035 pounds. Pm me your e-mail address and I'll send you the image I saved. Lesley

I think a copy of 'Burke's Peerage' would probably list knights. Don't know if the library would keep a copy. Kath. x

Ian I just googled 'sir fenwick watts' and there was a Watts Naval training school and there is a mention of a Sir Fenwick Watts taking over from his father Edmund Watts. I dont know if this is your family. Georgina.

If you've tried googling without success, I think you would need to contact a library or records office which has old copies of the Who's Who or Dictionary of National Biography, or some other reference book which would list knights. nell

I have found, to my delight, a distant cousin named Sir Fenwick Shadforth Watts, b 1859 at Blyth, Northumberland. He was the son of Edmund Hannay Watts, b 1831, also at Blyth. In the 1901 census and his marriage in 1910, he is not listed as 'Sir', but in a newspaper article from 1901 he is called Sir Fenwick Watts. I cannot find any more about him and wonder if there is an online facility to search back through the honours lists? Does anyone know of a way of doing this or any other way of finding more about him? I've tried everything I can think of (which isn't a lot really!) Any suggestions gratefully received. Ian
