If you wanted to find records of the 2 girls births in france you could try 1837online's overseas records which might list the girls since the parent were british citizans. Other wise try family search and look for a christening. To look for a french birth records would be more difficult as you would need to know where in france the girls were born as the records are not held centrally as in the UK. |

Can anyone help? I have discovered that an ancestor was in France with his family approx 1843 - 1848 during this time they had 2 daughters, who were born in France. Some time afterwards they moved back to UK. From previous census records, it appears that the father was a railway engineer (he was born in Scotland). I wonder whether this could have been the reason for him going with his family there, to help build railways for them? What I need to know is how to find any info on foreign railway workers in france or any info on passengers travelling to France. Does anyone have any info that may help? Thankyou and happy hunting Anita There are no Replies for this Thread |
