Parish registers are a good place to start. IGI is a guide but if you know which parish a visit to the relevant record office is essential. how did you get back to 1700's? netti

GOT BACK CENSUS TO 1851 THEN LOOKED AT GGGG FATHERS DATE OF BIRTH BUT I DONT KNOW WHERE TO GO FROM HERE. PLEASE DONT USE ABBREVIATIONS AS I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH THEM. THANKS LESLEY

sorry to confuse you IGI (international genealogical index) is a vast index to parish registers made by the mormans (latter day saints - LDS) As part of their religion they need to discover their ancestors. It covers mainly christenings and marriages. Search their website to see if your family is mentioned. It is not a complete list and is not always accurate. It is a very useful guide though. netti

Lesley Found 2 records of Beverley. Peak Forest Joseph chr 31/1/1802 to John BEAVERLEY and Elizabeth JOSEPH Chr 14/8/1870 to Joseph BEVERLEY and Mary Also marriage Joseph Beverley and Martha Swift 2/8/1803 Peak Forest About the right date for yours. Joan
