Hi Lib, Yes I've seen that family in 1891. I've assumed it's the same family but then again, I'm not 100%. Thanks for pointing it out though. Hi Rita, Thanks for the tip. I'll have a google! Cheers Helen

I know Heather! I tend to find the more unusual names are no easier, as they are more likely to be mistranscribed!

Wow, with a name like that, it should be easy, shouldnt it. What on earth is the origins of that name?

Hi Maureen, Thanks for the reply. Don't worry I wasn't feeling ignored! I'd just really appreciate others views as to whether I've got the same family in 1881 & 1871. These Earwickers are starting to annoy me! lol! Helen x

Hope you do not think that your request is being ignored. Not found anything on 1881 that is any nearer than the family you have already found. Maureen

My husbands great grandmother was Alice Janet Earwicker born 1875, in Bath, Somerset. I'm struggling to find her on the 1881 and 1891. I believe I may have found her in 1881, although her age is slightly out. 1881 1 Colston Place, Bristol Temple, Glos George Earwaker, 38, b Bath. Turner (E&M) Mary Ann, 37, b Hampshire George, 17, b Bath Annie, 14, b Bristol Alice, 4 b Bath Sarah, 1, b Bath Do you think this is the same family in 1871??? 1 Bolwells Court, Bath, Somerset George Earwaker, 28, b Hampshire Mary Ann, 29, b Bath Mary Ann, 7, b Bath George, 5,. b Bath Ann, 3, b Bristol Henry, 2, b Bath I really feel these are the same family, although the ages differ a bit. I also noticed the place of birth for Head and his wife switch 10yrs later! I can't find Henry in 1881 nor a death. I believe I have found daughter Mary Ann in 1881, working as a servant and I'm excited as she's been transcribed as 'Earwicker' I am currently waiting from the GRO the marriage cert of Aice Earwicker. If her father is named as George, then I'll be hoping I'm on the right track. Any ideas or thoughts would be most welcome. Do you think they are the same family in 1871 and 1881? Cheers Helen
