It looks as if Mount Tabor was the Methodist Church in Stockport. There are quite a few references to it if you Google that.

Am intrigued now....maybe that's where some of my missing ones are buried! Wonder if its the original name for what is now just known as Stockport Cemetery?

If you 'google' Mount Tabor Cemetary Stockport and click on pages for the UK it should display a website called Familia: Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council. Click on that, scroll down to section 10 and you will see it listed. Maureen

Thanks for looking anyway Merry. I will try the phone number. Dea x p.s. - I keep replying and you keep adding bits so I keep updating - You ARE good to me! I didn't know about the dates of burials, but is says 'Burial: Mt Tabor Cem, Stockport, Cheshire, England so I assumed the Cem was Cemetary - I can't think of anything else it would mean. Dea x

Try phoning: Stockport Cemetery & Crematorium Buxton Rd, Stockport, SK2 6LS Tel: 0161-480 5221 1842 is very early for a cemetery burial - they only began in 1837 and the first ones were near London (I think). Are you sure it isn't the name of a church/chapel?? Merry
