Having gone through all the Tref---- places on streetmap I think its most likely to be: Tref-y-nant, Denbighshire / Sir Ddinbych Trey-y-nant is not listed on the IGI (of course!), or as such on Genuki, though it does have Trefnant: www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/DEN/Trefnant/index.html It appears to be in St Asaph registration district, though its a bit unclear. nell

Stephanie is looking for the place of birth of Elizabeth Ralph born in Wales c1867 and married to a Thomas Ralph. In 1891 they are living in Kirkdale, Liverpool but the transcriber has placed the welsh pob for Elizabeth next to Thomas by mistake and it isnt very legible. I have looked on the 1901 but it just says Wales next to Elizabeth. Stephanie does not know Elizabeths maiden name. I have looked on family rellies for marriages of Thomas Ralphs in Lancs and only came up with these: It may be they married in Wales. 1 Ralph Thomas Blackburn.8e 580 Marriage 2 1886 2 Ralph Thomas Bolton.8c 462 Marriage 2 1886 3 Ralph Thomas Burnley.8e 354 Marriage 3 1886 I have to go and do some paid work now!! before I end up divorced, so could sks have a look for the birthplace of this Elizabeth. It may be Stephanie that you will have to buy the birth certificate of one of Elizabeths children to find her maiden name and then work back from there.

Seems to start with Tref and end in Nant and there's a y in the middle. Odd mix of capitals and lower case though. Janice
