Any help with this brick wall would be appreciated: My father in laws mother - Iris May JONES. Born 8th Sept 1906. Coleford, Glos/Herefordshre. Birth Cert. Shows: Mother Annie Jones, domestic servant. Lived Joyford, West Dean. No father shown. Apparently Iris was brought up by her two uncles, Fred and Tom JONES who also lived at or near Joyford/Coleford. I can’t find Annie, Tom or Fred in 1901. Also would it be 1901 England or Wales??? Any ideas please. Jenny

are you looking for the shortened form of their names or Ann, Thomas and Frederick? Looks like Gloucestershire Elizabeth Jones abt 1871 Eng; Hamp, Portsmouth, Eng Wife Coleford Gloucestershire Thomas Jones abt 1862 Coleford, Gloucestershire, England Head Coleford Gloucestershire You dont say if the Uncles were married or two batchelors that brought her up

West Dean is on the Wales census, there are only 26 entries, no Joneses Sam

Thank Jess. I believe they were batchelors

I've got earlier JONES in that area. Herefordshire border is nearby. Mine seemed to flit between counties.

Smiley, would that be the same for 1891, Wales I mean instead of England? Havn't tried that.

West Dean is on the England census 1891 - Glos, still no Joneses Sam
