Can any body tell me if it is possible to look up a 1919/1920 scottish census online. I am trying to find details of who was living at 83 Glasgow Road Dumbarton. |

As far as I am aware, there are no Scottish censuses online, they are all at New Register House, Charlotte Square, Edinburgh, EH1 3YT, 0131 334 0380, www.gro-scotland.gov.uk. If they are the same as the English ones, they will have been taken every 10 years from 1801 to the present {last one 2001}, but only 1841-1901 are generally available. There's a 100-year rule so the 1911 England/Wales one will be released in 2012. If you want to check an address, you would need to consult electoral rolls/street directories, but they will only give you the people eligible to vote/householder. nell |
