Sue I don't know untill Rhoda tells us !! I was just thinking that these are the deaths for Ann Cordwell in 1850 CORDWELL, Ann 1850 June Deaths Barton upon Irwell (1850-1934) Lancashire View Record Cordwell, Ann 1851 June Deaths Burton upon Trent Derbyshire Staffordshire View Record Cordwell, Ann 1851 June Deaths Lambeth Greater London London Surrey View Record CORDWELL, Ann 1851 September Deaths Stroud Gloucestershire But there is also this birth Cordwell, Ann 1850 June Births Barton upon Irwell (1850-1934) Lancashire So the death above for the same area could be for a child !! And if this is James... Cordwell, James 1852 September Marriages Barton upon Irwell (1850-1934) Lancashire then the areas fit. But this is only my guess work without more details from Rhonda. Esta

Sorry.....Rhonda, not Esta, Is this Ann Cordwell who died Barton upon Irwell? I can see Ann Cordwell aged 9 in Barton in 1851. If this is the person you are looking for, you will need to send for the death cert to find out the age at death. Sue

Hi, I don't have a death certificate but i found the record of the death on ancestry. She died Barton upon Irwell. I found on the 1861 census James Cordwell was married to Esther. I found the marriage record it says 1852. but on the 1851 census James is married to Ann. They lived with James parents Ann and Thomas. Thanks Rhonda

Rhonda, Didn't mean to confuse you - sorry. All I was trying to point out was that the death for Ann cordwell in 1850 could have been for a child ( not an adult ) as there was also a birth for Ann Cordwell in same year and place. The only way to know if this death is your Anns is to order the cert. Just because James remarried doesn't mean his first wife died. Esta

Rhonda, I think the death ref you had for Ann in 1850 isn't yours. Ann is on the 1861 with 3 kids in Cheshire ( although it does say wife/married). the kids are born '50/'52/'55 !!! James is on 1861 married to Ester. With kids born '53/'55/'58/'60 !! I think you need to buy some certs to know exactly whose who. What made you think Ann died in Barton upon Irwell.?

Hi, I think Ann died in Barton upon Irwell because that is where all the Cordwells in my family were born and died. Did they have divorce in those days? Still very new to all this, sorry if at time i sound a bit stupid. It's just so hard to tie in dates, when there are so many documents with different dates on refering to the same person. Regards Rhonda
