Hi. I have not been on this board for about 10 months because of domestic problems and only just got back to my Family History. Here is my dilemma, any shots in the dark would be appreciated!! I am trying to trace the birth of one of my dads cousins. No-one left alive knows her first name only what she was fondly called which is Penna. I know her mothers name and when her mother got married, 1908. So I decided to look at the indexes for a baby girl born between 1908 and 1911 for start in Birmingham with the surname PUGH. Now before I go any further, Penna had two daughters, Rosalie and Margaret. So I got to the indexes and found the following-groan. June 1908 birth of Rosalie Pugh. December 1909 birth of Margaret Ann Pugh-no others that look possible. Now what I ought to do is send for a likely cert and hope it's her. But if she named one of her children after herself which one? I know I'll eventually end up buying both but it would be nice to take a chance and get the right one. Which one seems the most likely then?? |

The marriage was in January 1908 which is why I was looking 1908 to 1911 which would fit Pennas age. I am suspecting that she is Rosalie. Not too many Rosalies and asshe called her own first born Rosalie my gut tells me it's the more likely. |
