Hi, I had family born in Heworth in 1886 and ironically enough one of my Son's now lives in Heworth I will get him to visit the local library-or indeed ask around and see if the place still exists.- How stupid am I, just spoke to Son on his return home later tonight he will look in his A-Z and see if they still exist. |

I am trying to find where in Felling my Father-in law's father was born and lived. On his birth cert is 4 LEEMING PLACE FELLING USD HEWORTH GATESHEAD Co DURHAM,in 1886. I cannot find this on any old maps, either before or around this time, certainly not later. I contacted the Durham record office too, they cannot find it, but think it might be around the Victoria Square part of Felling. From the 1871 census apparently. If anybody has possibly heard of this 'road' and can help, we both would be very greatful. Especially as we're from the south and FIL is now 82 and not really up to travelling there himself. Thanks hoping Regards Linda |
