Can't find g grandad william

Can anyone help please? Today I received my g grandparents marriage certificate - William Smith and Mary Edwards 1890. Both aged 20. Both fathers called William. William Smith (groom) Packer found him on census 1891 onwards. Cannot find him before that. His father- Anvil maker. (from certificate) area of mariage Pensnett Stafford Bride and groom both living at bell Sreet Pensnett with her family at time of marriage. Found her family easily. Any ideas anyone? |

You didn't say where William Smith junr was born?? Can you post their 1891 or 1901 census record?? Merry |

1891 i assume, well, the family that she left behind when she married. do we assume she was born Dudley ?- probably not! Merry' according to the 1891 he was born in Dudley and she was born in Blackheath, but her birth doesn't match with census results. The census details posted by Jess are the ones I have. Thanks to you both. Claire |

Merry I think that might well be the one. On one of the census forms after he was married he was 2 years younger than his wife, so that matches up with young Willy. How did you manage to find an anvil maker - i've been searching for hours? Thankyou soo much Claire |

So if that was the groom (Willie!) born 1872 in Dudley on the 1881 census to William (Anvil Maker) and Emma, here are William senr and Emma again in 1891.
