Genes Reunited looks at each person in your tree and checks over 44 million relatives to look for first name, surname and year of birth matches Place or country of birth isn't included. My main gripe is that my hot matches havn't yet got further than the Baggott family.

Would you like some of mine - i've got 5 pages of them . I've looked aand as far as i can see they'll probably be more use to you than me - and i dont even know your names! I think the funniest thing of all is - and hope this is a typical example - There are 4 direct matches for my own name and year of birth, Now, maybe i should seriously stop and consider was i born in 1) Glasgow? 2) New Zealand? 3) St Albans? 4) Leeds?....... How can they be matches? Jess x

They seem to be in surnames e.g. I had loads of hot matches for George Knight (none born in the same place though, another load of John Knights, then several Mary Bakers, seceral William Bates, some with surnames starting with F and a couple with I. So it isn't alphabetical. Ann Glos

You are not alone - I haven't had any either. When I did have some they were useless anyway.

Hi Tammy I had mine yesterday, I thought perhaps they are doing them in a certain order, like earlier members first, I then noticed you joined ages ago. So it cant be that or they could be doing it by surnames or anything like that. I am sure you will get them soon.

I've never had a single one since they introduced it yet I've been contacted by my cousin today to say that some of our shared ancestors have appeared on her hot matches Whole system is useless!
