Hi Sandra, I searched all years after 1916 with various combinations on his name, with and without occupation, with and without the word bankrupt(cy) etc etc.......No joy I'm afraid......... I have never been entirely clear on how the paper sourced their info and why a smalltime bankrupt from hundreds of miles from the capital might get a mention one day and someone else from London in a bigger business might not be mentioned the next day?? Suppose it's down to what ''other stories'' need printing.....if the day didn't have much ''news'' you are more likely to get lucky with these various court proceedings......... Better luck next time! Merry |

Thanks everyone for your replies, such lovely people on this site x If you are going to look at bankruptcies Merry, all the information I have is: Frederick George McDonald (might be (Mac), believe he was a plasterer living possibly in William Street, London, not sure if it might be Hackney/Leyton/Walthamstow area. Believe the period will be 1920/1930 Hope this helps. Many thanks Sandra |

Course I don't mind ''Valerie (in disguise!)''....... They are easy to look up usually - either there or not there!! What I need is rough decade to search in, name of business is different from the names of those involved, names of people involved, type of business, whereabouts in the country they were operating......... The more you can give me the greater chance of finding something...... Merry |
