Wow. I hope someone buys them and treasures this collection. I find it sad to see these sort of things sold.

Trudy, thanks for adding the text. I remember visiting England last year (from Australia). I met my uncle for the first time and asked if he had any old photos. In a little red album were photos of my grandparents, great aunts and uncles and a number of others. All names and dates were written on the back including dates when they died. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Can you imagine looking at ebay and finding your family in that suitcase. I even want the suitcase!!! Susan

Gawd! This is compelling stuff, isn't it!! I've googled SS Rex and found that it was an Italian cruise ship launched in 1932 and which won the blue riband. It was destroyed during WW2. The MEEUS family are a bit vague - my feeling is that they would have been Belgian. However, the Home Guard certificate in the collection and the Bournemouth Echo cuttings suggest this is someone who settled in the UK. Wish we knew more! Regs Jane

Wow wish it was my family with all those goodies. Makes you feel like buying it and then trying to trace the family it belongs to, but then again they may not be as enthusiastic as we are. Jxx
