have a birth and death of person in same year will i get mothers maiden name of this person from a library look up or will i have to send for the cert thank you for any help angie

Generally the mother's maiden name will be on the birth cert, but not on the death cert. It might help if you would give the details if you can, as so much depends on when, where and what the name is, as to whether more can be found out without spending the £7!! Merry

You'll have to get the birth certificate, as the death may have been registered by someone other than the mother. If you know which parish the birth was in you could ask for a look up in the parish registers at the appropriate record office for the baptism record which may give the mother's name although not always. He could have lived for a few months (only the death certificate will tell you for sure), because the death was registered in a different district to the birth. Kath. x
