IS 1901 CENSUS FREE ON GRN OR NOT

I added name to find then it said I had to pay to look . This is not what i call free Am I doing something wrong or do you have to pay Maureen

No, as before, the initial searrch is free but you have to pay to download. Ann Glos

its free to look so far and then you have to pay to see image. its a bit of a con really but thats life!

Never mind I should know nothing in this life is for free as my father used to say. I,ll look on Ancestry at least you pay to join then its free not like here Thanks for all your replies Maureen

Genes have just recently paid £3.000.000 for the 1901 census, so they are going to want to charge someware

Only thing is,on Ancestry there isnt search on address facility. My GrtGrn & her hubby arent showing by name search. I know the address when she married in 1900 but she wasnt there.Have just sent for a cert for death of hubbies son in early 1902 & am hoping that shows an address I can search on. My grandafther too wasnt listed in the index ,but by searching around roads we know the famillies were in the area ,we have now just found him. Name not incorrectly transcribed,just not listed in name index . So its paying again to search by address when the cert I,ve orderd arrives. Shirley
