Dodgy websites like Lost Cousins

I really ought to know better. Whenever you join a site that asks for a return email address to send a password to, for goodness sake, don't use your regular email address. Not only did they ignore the request not to be sent unsolicited mail, but they are bouncing back my emails. Be warned.

I haven't had any problems with Lost Cousins at all. It's proved very useful - finding me 2 contacts. They answer my emails promptly as well. Their newsletter is also very interesting. I think you're being a bit harsh. Jane

I can only say that I haven't found it dodgy and I would be wary of calling a legitimate website 'dodgy' on an open messageboard. nell

I like Lost Cousins and quite enjoy reading their monthly newsletter. Definitely wouldn't describe them as 'dodgy'. If you don't supply your e-mail address, how are you ever going to contact anyone who matches with you on there?

No problems for me either. I think its a really good idea and has been more successful recently with coverage in Fam Hist mags and journals. Anne
