1851 No it's not just your family I looked for my husbands gt grandmother and she and her family aren't there. Although I know they should be because I found them in the 1851 census in the local studies centre About transcribing my next door neighbour used to work ar low security womens prison and she says that some of the inmates transcribed some of the census returns. So probably because some of them weren't really interested in genealogy they just put down what they thought it was instead of checking Bren

They've learnt nothing from previous mistakes. The head of my family of Barkers who are all transcribed correctly is transcribed as Danker. One son who I know was born in Windsor Berkshire, was apparently born in Windsor, Yorkshire. The image looks perfectly clear to me. Is there a Windsor in Yorkshire? Vivienne

Well, there are and you can't post corrections yet, but I was amazed to see Reynolds Ramsden was transcribed correctly! And it is fairly difficult to read. Kate.
