hello. here is just a little tip which i have found when searching my tree. if you are stuck searching for parents on your tree but have the surname or place or birth year then look at the first name if you are onsure.i have found that many names are passed down the dfahters name to usually his eldest son or the mothers to the eldest daughter. now this does not always occur but i have found sometimes it does and it has helped me. anthoer thing is the middle name, if lets say your grt*3 grandmother's middle name is emma thebn when searching for her mother look for the name emma also. i hope this is clear enough and it is not a brilliant way to search but it does help when you are stuck. laura X |

Good tip, Laura. I actually do this myself, which has proved invaluable. The amount of Harriets I have on one part of my tree is incredible - to name but one! lol. x |
