I have in my tree Southwell Rowett born 1821 Baumber Lincolnshire! He appears on the 1871 census but nowhere else! I have listed the information from the 1871 below but if anyone can find him on any other census I would be really grateful! Thanks Julie xxx

I think I've found a possible family in 1881 still in Baumber but transcribed as Bonnett. Just waiting for image to load.

Ooh Judith I'm all excited now! Fingers crossed! Julie xxx

See what you think. The first letter is a definite B I think but the nn could easily be a w, and of course the enumerator could have made a mistake copying into the book. He was a lazy worker, listed nerly everyone by initial and surname so the household is S Bonnett (Bowett?) Head mar 60 Labourer Lincolnshire Baumber Eliz do. wife mar 59 do. Lusby Chas do. son Unm 26 General Labourer do. Baumber There were no Bonnetts in Baumber in 1871 which makes it more likely this lot are your family.

I think Judith is right. The neighbours are PAULSON in both 1871 and 1881.

Have just done a search on ancestry 1861 census using nothing but parish name of Baumber and there are NO hits whatsoever - so I would assuem they either don't have it or its been destroyed Zoe

Glad to have been able to help. Tried on the 1861 but Ancestry don't seem to have anyone living in Baumber listed at all

This is why we can't find them on the 1861, taken from ancestry's list of 'partly missing' pieces from Sarah's thread: 2365 - Part of Wragby, sub to Horncastle District, Lincolnshire Kate.
