To go along with what Chris said........ Batches that start with C,K or J are Baptisms Those that start with M or E are Marriages And those with P are printed or typed copy of manuscript All above are reliable extracts Those starting with A or F are submissions fro members of LDS church and are not as reliable. Hope this helps. Barbara

Google 'Hugh Wallis batch numbers' and you can see exactly which parishes are covered for which years. nell

If you find one child of a couple being baptised, just click on the batch number at the bottom, put in the surname for the search and the parents if you want and it will bring up any other kids baptised to them in that church.

It's great isn't it. Also you can sometimes substitue the c at the front for an m and get the marriages or vice versa, doesn't always work but always worth a go.

I was searching FamilySearchOrg and I was checking a few names and I came across one I thought |I recognised so clicked onto it - I never knew you could click on the batch number and come up with a whole new list of names - I actually got a relative listed with both her husbands names - you can tell I am new to this - but I am learning slowly - so if there are any other new tree people out there - try it - it was great to see - Gillian S.
