Valerie, CCleaner removes removes garbage that windows and browsers collect that can really slow you PC down. (Nothing to do with AntiVirus or Spyware directly).You don't have to delete cookies etc with this, it does it all for you and more. The effect on your PC can be quite remarkable. You do need to be aware that for sites that you use often you need to go to options /cookies and allow from those sites (like GR). One of the best available and it's free. Bob

Thanks Alan, didn't realise that was there! although since cleaning them out my computers going slower, maybe the cookies are the only things keeping this computer going...MOE!

Heather, i already have AVG7 and cyber patrol, my computer keeps saying i 'have performed an illegal operation and will shut down' and then shuts down on me! i am getting my daughter a new computer for xmas(for me really) i just hope this thing can last that long....MOE!

I dont know if it would cause the puter to crash. BUT, download Ccleaner and run it through your puter (its free). Also if you havent got one, download a firewall like Zonealarm and antivirus like AVG7 both freebies and add on something like adaware or Microsofts own progra. The Ccleaner really made my pc speed up when I used it first time. Good luck.

I have followed JUDYS tips on how to delete cookies, but mine says there are no files when i type in the words 'cookies without as advised.But if i type in the words INDEX DAT i have hundreds of yellow files, can i go on to the part where i can open the files and continue as instructed? or do i only delete the ones that come up when 'cookies without' is entered? in my case none. My computer is going haywire and crashing all the time so i know there are major problems but i don't have the knowledge to deal with it, Please help, i am staying online but if i don't respond to a question you know the computer has crashed and i will have to start from scratch....MOE!
