Hello Elli, William Nichols b 1798 (not sure if its Devon as on marriage info- could be old london area) He married Mary Pentecost in 1816 at St. Keverne Cornwall- occupation Marina. Son Samuel b 1819 st. george in the east, middlesex.(surname mistranslated to nicholl). Sooo not sure if William is from Devon or Middlesex. Thansk Sylvie b

His occupation would be 'Mariner', i.e. a sailor, not marina. Kate.

Hi Kate, Yes, I understand but on the records its states 'marina' do you think this is something different to what I was thinking (if thats english) Sylvie b

Sylvie Hadn't forgotten you.... just been searching through National Archives. Go have a look, there are loads of William Nichols there but I don't know how to narrow any of them down to yours? www(.)nationalarchives(.)gov(.)uk(/)documentsonline Good luck Elly
