I have an ancestor who is on the 1891 census and in an army garrison as an infantryman. There is no sign of him on the 1901 census. Am I right in thinking that the Boer war took place 1899 - 1902. If he was fighting there when the 1901 census took place would he be recorded anywhere and if he was killed out there where would I find a record of his death? Any help greatly appreciated |
