I sent off for the death cert of my great grans cousin whose death was registered in the June Qtr but she did not appear on census night so I sent for it out of curiousity only to find she died on the census night! and the informant was my gg gran who had been absent from her Middlesbrough home with along with her two middle daughters. Though sadly they do not appear at the young cousins home or their own. I guess they must have been in transit that night or it never occurred to the griefstricken family to let the enumerators know that there were visitors. So don't give up on finding your missing people. If you lost an ancestor then send for the death or even birth cert of rellie who was registered in that quarter, you never know it might solve a mystery. A happy George |

Nice one George (well, not for the rellies, but......) I have a similar thing in reverse. Rellie died a couple of days after the 1901 census. Because he was dying, all his children (grown), grandchildren, inlaws and several other ''hangers on'' were all in his house, so I was able to pick them all up at once! Merry |
