Have just found out that my email has only been sending some of my messages even though they were shown as having been sent in the 'sent mail' box. Only found out when one of my sons assignments never arrived at it's destination and he was docked 15% of the total marks when we finally managed to transmit it. Has anyone else had this happen? If so what was the cure! |

I'm not sure how you would 'cure' this other than reinstalling software. But when it happened to us for a while (then it cured itself) we put a 'request a receipt' on all our messages, that way we knew they had been received ok. Karen |

Ken, who do you have your email with? Perhaps it's an error on their part. |

Hi It could be because of a singular word in the e-mail that their e-mail scanner software has picked up and so thinks the e-mail is either spam or something abusive etc..So automatically filters them straight to their Recycle bin. I would expect that especially education establishments would have certain words etc barred. They probably dont check their recycle bins for geniune emails often enough. For something as important as this type of thing then a receipt would definatly help. Maybe worth asking them if this could have happened, and if they could check their recycle bin and if it is their, restore his marks. Julie |

Ken: Something else to check; your ISP only allows so much space for e-mail. If the e-mails that you are sending are not reaching their destination it could be because the person you are sending to has used up all his allotted space.....they need to delete some of their old mail. If it's mail they don't want to delete, they can save a copy of the mail to their PC and then delete it from their e-mail box. Judy |

When we went away for a month my email box was full within 3 days - have a dot com address and get loads of spam which is filtered once it arrives. Unfortunately my real email was bounced back and now I've been taken off loads of genealogy mailing lists. Also when I've tried to send some emails and occasionally a funny one - even just word format - I've had many undeliverable - so I wonder if I am now down as a spam site and what can I do about it. I don't even know if my emails are getting through that I haven't had a message about as even if I ask for a receipt I don't get them. I've resorted to using different email addresses but want to keep using my dotcom one as its easy to remember. Can anyone suggest a remedy? |
