thats the trouble with the handwritten pages, once you have down loaded the page, its gone, the heading, I mean......... when I save the page, I go...... year, name,B M or d's....., qtr ( I prefix 1 for mar, 2 for jun, 3 for sep, 4 for dec.), that puts it in alpha numerical order ... .djvu.... and save it into a ' named'' folder, into ''saved 1837 pages'' Bob

Many thanks Merry. I will keep that search tool in mind for any further searches. I thought that if something wasn't on FreeBMD, it wasn't there at all. Guess it just hasn't been transcribed yet. Margaret

What you did is right!! Just take a stab part way through and download. The first page I got began with G. The next one I got began with DY Then DU, but a few pages short of the one you wanted. I then chose a few back and forth until i got the right one! Merry

Thanks Merry. That was quick. What am I doing wrong then when I am searching? I went to: View Images Look for - Deaths Look for Deaths in - 1841 Look for deaths in - June Qtr Starting with A-M Then it gives me 1399 pages to choose from. Did you just happen to pick the right range of page numbers?

Yes - It is 1841 Q2 I needed to download 7 pages to find it, so not too bad! Merry

The thing is, they don't have it listed on FreeBMD. So I don't have the information to select the image - if you know what I mean (there are 1399 pages to search for deaths qtr 2 surname A-M 1841) Gloria, I'm pretty sure that she died in 1841 or 1842. Both she and her husband were missing/unfound on the 1851 census and the two youngest sons ages 10 and 12 were in a work house. They weren't listed as orphans, but the children before them and after them were.

You can view the pages via FreeBMD. Go to the Main Page (click bottom left of the Search Page) then go to View Images and fill in each box they give you...... Takes longer than 1837online, but you get the satisfaction of not spending 10p when you know you shouldn't have to!! Merry

You'd think so Alan, but not on this one. It is a handwritten page - not a typed one. Margaret

Silly me - saved a copy of a page on 1837 a while back for a death reference and forgot to make a note of the year and quarter. Can anyone help? Sarah Dunning, Pickering, vol24 pg307. I think it is 1841 qtr 2, but nothing is showing up on FreeBMD in either 1841 or 1842. Margaret
