I have been trying to find any details on a marriage between CLARA LOUISA NEWELL, born on 11 oct 1842, and WILLIAM HAYNES, born 26 aug 1837. from census return i know that they must have been married between 1861 and 1871 as in '61 clara was working as a domestic servant and living in someones house. their 1st child, Clara, was born in 1870 in the peckham area. i have searched myself a few times and found nothing so if anyone else has any luck i would appreciate it Thanks

Hi Alison I don't know the area at all, I'm afraid, but is Islington anywhere near it? I have found a William Haynes on Ancestory. On the page there is a brides name missing - maybe the bride is Clara? Long shot i know, and you would only find out if you sent for the cert. details below Haynes, William Record Type: Marriages Quarter: December Year: 1869 District: Islington County: Greater London London Middlesex Volume: 1b Page: 352 Hope it helps Mandy XX

There is no Newell marriage to match this on 1837 in OND 1869 but It may have been missed off altogether. Deborah

I'm saying the same to everyone today!! There's a black hole on FreeBMD marriages 1864/65. So those years (and some before that) need checking on 1837online..... For FreeBMD coverage see their charts under Information, Statistics. FreeBMD is down at the mo.... Merry
