Historical directories is a useful site, but it doesn't have London 1860-1870s. The Family records centre in London has Kelly's for years near the census which is useful for checking addresses. It lists roads and shows where other roads/railway lines etc intersect so you can pinpoint where your relatives lived in London. I've found several London ancestors this way, both in the residential and commercial sections. Records offices generally have a run for their area; the Society of Genealogists has some too. nell |
