my mother was born in leeds 1937 and then adopted to scotland, have managed to get birth cert. with birthmothers nameand address in uddingston. can anyone tell me how to trace back address, only info my mother ever knew was that she was a nurse from scotland.checked GRO site and have only found one person with the name margaret mary cairns born 1920 in lanark area which is within area.also when i checked adoption cert. she wasnt legally adopted until 1949 but was with her family from 12 days old.mystery just thickens no one alive to help.. |

Mary Can I just clarify this? Your mother was born in Leeds 1937 and then adopted to scotland. What is the birth cert in Uddingston to do with her? Is this the same as the 1920 one and do you believe this is your grandmother? nell |
