Jean Google for Irfan View, and download the software. It is only a small program but it will enable you to Crop any picture file you have, so you will be able to take off the black edges easily. Don't forget to leave the ref on. Have found the page and it is as follows, it is only 874.5KB so not much bigger than one census file. http://www(.)tucows(.)com/preview/194967 Remove brackets. Oh Bob, now you have me worried. Bitmap? How do I get that or is there another way? All I want to do is save (or copy) the image then tidy it up a bit. I'm sure there must be way, if only I wasn't so dim!!! Jean |

Jean The size of the file is about 550KB so it will take reather a lone time to copy to a floppy, and you will only get 2 per floppy disk, or if you are lucky 3. Victor |

Does it take a long time? There didn't seem to be any indication that it had finished. First time I have done this so wasn't sure if I had done it right. LOL ! Bit if an amateur whenit comes to these things Thanks Jean |

Perhaps the images hadn't finished loading when you saved them from Ancestry. |
