hey sammy carolines maiden name was northfield, her first husband was william cray her second arthur bourne.

These are the only Arthur Bourne's born in 1915, are you sure all your info is correct regarding the dates? Bourne Arthur J Harris Basingstoke.2c 396 Birth 3 1915 Bourne Arthur J Northfield Bethnal Green.1c 204 Birth 3 1915 Bourne Arthur M Marten Brighton.2b 308 Birth 1 1915 Bourne Arthur Fowler Bury.8c 45 Birth 3 1915 Which marriage has Brenda found? I thought her maiden name was Bourne?

Have you tried any of the local BMD sites (if relevant)? There's a list on http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/index.php Some of them have quite modern records transcribed, where FreeBMD (covering the whole country) has a limit around 1910 or so at the moment. Christine

Hey My grandmothers first husband was killed in 1912 in a docking accident, have no idea when she married again but do know there was a son born in 1915 called arthur bourne.

Well I'd check when her first husband died first, and then you would need to go through the GRO marriage indexes after that until you find it. Are there any children of the second marriage which might be a pointer as to when she remarried? nell

Thanks sarah, i believe she was widowed after only a year of being married, i'll have to keep on looking.

If she was widowed when she remarried, she would most likely have used her late husband's surname. If they were divorced, she might have reverted to her maiden surname, though she could just have easily remarried with her ex's surname. Sarah

Hey guys. My great grandmother was married twice and im having trouble finding details of her second marriage. would she have used her maiden name which was bourne? or her first husbands name which was cray? thanks
