Have the death of George Hanson 7.11.1923 Lewisham age 55. Not sure if he was born in Newcastle or Kent, but can I find it? No! On his marriage 22.5.1899 in Woolwich to Mabel S J Ellis, his father is declared as Harold Hanson, horse dealer. Cannot find bmd for him either. Where are these 2 gentlemen hiding? Can anyone help pls!

Crista That's them on the 1901, spelled incorrectly. Tku so much. I'll now look for births with the 'revised' spelling and see if I get anywhere. Christine

Christine, It does look like Hanson on the image. The transcription is poor. You will need to look on 1837 as FreeBMD is not complete for the years around George's birth. Crista

I have checked 1837 years 1869-1870 for George Hanson's birth in Newcastle but cannot find him. Could anyone be very kind and see if he is on the 1871 and 1891 census. This might show up his parents too whom I have not located yet.

What was his age on his marriage cert? What was his middle name? Just having a look on 1871 You can search 1881 for free on www.familysearch.org

Smiley Sammy: George Hanson is 29 on his marriage cert, no middle name, but middle initial 'T' on 1901 census and notes that he was born in Newcastle. I cannot find George or Harold on the lds 1881 census. I've found George's death on 1837 in Lewisham Q4 1923 age 55. (Strangely enough there is also a George T Hanson who died Q4 1923 but he was 76 so that's not him.) I'm stuck. Maybe the 1871 and 1891 might shed some light on this problem. Tku for your time.
