What is going on!? I can save details for some relations, but there's one particular relation that is not updating, and GR says failed to connect to site or something. There must be some serious bugs with the new tree design! This only happens in Internet Explorer, but with Mozilla it's fine, although I cannot get the Extra details tab to fully diplay. Also, you cannot access the old tree program from the list relations. Therefore, I'm going to have to forget entering details using GR system, but instead, rely on my offline family tree softwares. What a bummer... I've got a lot of work to do on my tree... |

Giles - Im having the same problem as you - cant add new family members. Also seem to have lost 10 of my previous ones. This site is getting beyond a joke - like you I have a lot of updating to do, on my tree, and it is so frustrating when you have the time, the information, but NO facility. A 'Very Fed Up Indeed' Member UPDATED: Seems to be OK now going through aol, still not got the 10 who went awol back yet! Oh well, better replace them with some new ones!!!! Happy Hunting!! |

Forget this... I'm going to have to become independent of GR's crappy system, and start updating my tree properly with an offline family tree package. I think Legacy is the best, so that's the one I'm going to use... you can enter your relation's address and also the periods of their various occupations. The options are endless with offline software, but I did like the GR system's simplistic approach, including Source of Data field (quite hard to reach in Legacy). GR was the first software I used, and is how I made my contacts, so I've always built my tree around GR. However, it's time to move on... people are even talking about losing members/data or even complete trees!? I better run... |

I empathise Giles, but the reason for joining Genes in the first place is to make contacts, which Ive noticed, since the upgrade has brought a few new ones for me, out of the woodwork! Shame about the woodworm though! LOL K |

All GR is good for is making contacts, so forget about using this site as a software for seriously building your tree. I'll just have to keep importing... |

You arn't going to believe this!! I can't add any relations AGAIN! Should have stayed where I was snug in the bosom of my ancestors, instead of coming back on Tips to update my message! :o((( K |

I got this message from GR support yesterday 'I can confirm that we do some problems on the site with Mozilla at the moment please bear with us while we work to fix it.' I wouldn't even contemplate using GR as my main database. I want mine on my own PC properly backed up, then export to GR (which is another form of back up). |
