I keep trying to add a request for a look up on the Surname thread on Records Office - four times this morning in all and each time nothing comes up. I renewed membership so it can't be that. Has anyone else had a problem or is it just me ?

Mary Which Surname thread do you mean. If it is Surname History I have just added a nudge and it worked fine. Victor

Just had another go - six so far and nothing shows up. Frustrating or what !!!!!! Don;t know what to do next .

Really strange - I can't see them and I just posted an apology for any duplications and that hasn't shown either. I can get to page 20 of the thread and thats it.

Mary - if you're still there, click on 'Latest Reply First' at the top of the Surname History thread and you will see all your postings!!! Kate.

Thanks - I did that and they were there but no sign of them on the actual thread and no replies either so I assume that Maz hasn't received them as she is very prompt to reply. I've e mailed genes now and they said they will put my request on for me. Hope it gets sorted out now. Poor Maz running the thread will think I've lost the plot ! Thanks for your help

Mary - I don't understand what you mean by 'no sign of them on the actual thread' - where did you see them if it wasn't on the actual thread?? It is just that when a thread gets past a certain number of replies, you can't see them all going forwards (i.e. oldest reply first), so you have to choose 'latest reply first' to see them. People sometimes start a new thread when this happens. Kate.

I can see my requests if I click on to Latest reply section but if I click on the last page of the actual thread itself (page 20 in this case) I can't find anything that I've put on. This lady is very prompt with her replies too and there's been nothing from her. I did e mail the site itself and they said they would make sure my request went on to the thread but as it seems everyone else can view it except me I'm at a complete loss. Poor Maz(Cornish Maid) who's running it must think I'm complete barmy by now. I can only think of e mailing her direct with my request

Mary - as I said before, it is the 'actual thread' you are looking at when you choose 'latest reply first'!!!! Kate.

Thanks for that.When I go on to latest replies I can see my requests and nothing else. I'll delete some of them and see what happens. Thanks for your help and patience.
