I enjoyed the challenge! Besides, it was another bit of displacement activity - rather than doing the jobs that really need to be done! Christine

I had a look on Ancestry. It doesn't have an index, so you have to work out where Moston is (North Machester / Failsworth) and work through the Enumeration District descriptions. It's in No 23, and work through the pages to find the address - page 25. My interpretation of the script (for 18 John Harrop St) is: Samuel WAINWRIGHT - Head - married - 58 - platelayer's labourer - b Dodleston, Cheshire Emma WAINWRIGHT - Wife - married - 52 - b Lancashire M/chester Samuel WAINWRIGHT - Son - 26 - labourer (general) - b Lancashire M/chester I looked on the next page to see if there wer eany more (no) but I found the enumerator's note that the occupants of no 20 'Took paper with them' ! So you need to put up a thread asking if anyone can do an address search on the National Archives 1901 census? And quote the full address with the number. Number 18 is on the index, so someone should be able to get it for you. Good Luck Sarah

Do you mean, ''Who lived at John Harrop Street, Moston, Manchester on the 1901 census?'' I have found the street on the National Archives version of the 1901 census. If you are like me and don't have a subscription going for it at the moment, then you would need to ask if anyone else has!! The cost is 75p per page on that site, but it's the only one with an address search for 1901. Do you know what number you need in the street? There seem to be 19 families living there, which will stretch across several pages of census. Sarah
