How to find Ireland Records?

In the Search Box above just type in Ireland...You.re not the first to ask and there about 150 queries and replies on the message boards. Good luck Jane

Sorry if this is a stupid question? I have a certificate that says my great grand parents were both born Ireland 1846, (I have only traced them back as living in Wales). Where do I now go to look for Irish records? I understand its difficult? Are there any free search web sites or pay only now? any help?
