What is the reference/name/details for the 1901 census , would be better placed in a context to understand its meaning Jess

I was just curious really to see what the hospital was, whether it was just a general hospital or whether it was specialist

Records for the hospital are held by the Borthwick Institute in York. We got patient records from them for the Quaker York Retreat (another hospital) and Borthwick were very very helpful and pretty cheap!! Look at a2a website: http://www.a2a(.)org.uk/ (remove brackets) and search for ''York County Hospital''. Good Luck Sarah
