Hi Linda, Don't worry you haven't done anything wrong! If you add a reply to a thread (even if it is just thank you) it will push the thread to the top of the list again. Most people (me included) would rather folks said thank you on the thread, then you can be sure that they have actually seen the info you have found for them. So, don't worry, you've done it right!
